There is not really a specific card that will help more than others. Just look for a card that you can schedule online payments for automatically so that you do not forget. Always make sure to pay early, because the amount of credit you have available versus the amount you are using is a large part of your score. Here is the breakdown of what affects your credit score:
35% - payment history: late payments, on-time, etc.
30% - credit utilization: how much credit available compared to used
15% - length of credit history: the longer you have your credit accounts and pay on time, the better for you
10% - types of credit used: car loans, credit cards, etc.
10% - credit requests/inquiries: applying for multiple credit cards or loans in a short amount of time will hurt your score.

There is no way to improve your credit score overnight, just pay on time and be patient. Try to use different sources of credit when available. Good luck and remember to save too.

I would advise that you look into a secured credit card. Try a site like findsecuredcards (google it)

As long as you can supply them with your deposit, they don’t do a credit check or anything like that. You should be fine, good luck!

You can get a secured card if you have to; that might be all that you qualify for.

I’ve had 2 “bad credit” unsecured credit cards (one Mastercard and one Visa) in the past, and they definitely helped raise my credit score…but they both required a bunch of money. Like…I think I had to pay an annual enrollment of $179 and a monthly fee of $6…and my card only had like a $200 or $300 limit! Jerks. LOL

You can repair your credit without getting a credit card, and some medical bills can be negotiated or forgiven. I’m going to link you to an article that explains ways you can repair your credit for free (no debt consolidation companies or anything crazy like that).
