What first credit Card should a person get?

credit deferment
Sarah O asked:

22 years old..No credit. Just out of college. Working a full time-temp job. With the prossibility of getting hired. (it’s very likely, they like him) I thought Newegg because he shops there often, but their APR is 21.99% with a finance charge of $2.00. But they have that deferment things on all purchases over $55.00..

I would go with something with a low credit limit simply to keep from going hog wild with a first card and getting burried in debt. 21% is high, but ive heard of people paying higher-up around 30% in some cases! And considering its a first credit card hes not gonna get much better probably.

That’s a pretty high interest rate. I would shop around for a better rate, also something with no annual fee.

You should try for a card with the bank you already use. If you have a checking and/or savings account there, you’ll have a better chance. Otherwise, CitiBank has credit cards for many different circumstances – I’m sure being a newly graduated professional would qualify you for something.

Always remember to treat your credit like a fragile egg in a bucket of rocks. Handle it with extreme care – once something bad happens, it’s so hard to fix it.

- try this one. I personally use their card. As I know it offers 0% interest rate for 18 months and doesn’t charge monthly fee.
