wage garnishment for AES student loan?

AES Student Loan
Rana C asked:

I owe AES 4,800$ for a student loan. They have since garnished my wages 15%. Now with the economic times we are in, I honestly can not afford that much income taken from me. I have a one month old baby at home and am the only one working. Is there ANYTHING I can do to have to amount lowered? I understand I have to repay this and I want to get out of this hole, but at the current time they are raping my family and seem to not care. Its funny as big corporations get our tax money with no strings attached people like my self and many others get the shaft from our government.
In response to calling AES about financial hardship, am I able to while in garnishment?

Call AES ASAP. They have both an economic and financial hardship forbearance. Talk with them— they will help you out if you don’t d*ck them around!

*Most likely, they will consolidate the loan into a “new” loan. Yes, they can do it from wage garnishment but get to it before they turn their cheek so to speak.

Same thing happened to me, call them and tell them they are causing you financial hardship, they can send you a form to fill out showing your income, expenses etc. And you may be able to get the deduction lowered.

The time for you to have talked with the Creditor was at the time they filed suit against you and you had a chance to go to court and discuss your situation at the first hearing. If you did not do that, there is little you can do at this late date.

Big Corporations are not doing anything against little people, you borrowed the $4,800 and did not pay it back or make reasonable arrangements to pay it back. Anyone is entitled to be paid back after so long.. Would I not be correct to think you loan is in default by at least 18 months without payment?
