The credit bureau has some important details of my identity messed up on their records, what is the safest way to go about correcting it?
Great replies, thank you…I am gonna contact the credit bureau with the error and ask for their mailing address to correct this.

If they are reporting your personal information incorrectly then make a copy of a utility bill that is in your name (mark out the account number) and also make a copy of your drivers license (mark out the state ID number).
Send them those copies along with a letter informing them of the errors they are reporting, that you are providing proof of who you are and that you are asking them to correct the errors.

I want to just add to what echo said: follow up. Give them a few weeks to update your material, after you’ve sent them proof of your information via registered post (so you have proof it was received or at least sent, track it). Then you need to find out if they’ve updated and that it’s been done so correctly.

Send the credit bureau a dispute letter asking them to correct your name. I had the same thing before. They had listed another name for me matching my social security.

Be sure to include a copy of your driver license that has your most recent address and a recent utility bill with your dispute letter.

Here’s some information about making a dispute:
