Student loan reported late while i was in deferment status. Hurting my credit score?

I contacted Sallie Mae, but they said there was nothing they could do to change it in my credit report.
I also filled a investigation with Equifax and it came back as verified. I completely lost as to what other options i have to get this corrected.
I so ticked off that this is hurting my credit. Is there anything else i can do to get this removed.

I wouldn’t take this laying down. Who reported the delinquency? Was it SLM? If so, set them straight by having your school’s financial aid office to contact them by verifying you were in active status. Get a copy of your enrollment papers from your registrar and fax them over to SLM. Get SLM to acknowledge that with the school’s verfication and contact from your financial aid office, you were in fact on a “in-school deferment” and should not have been reported as delinquent. Fax whatever you receive from SLM and forward a copy to the credit bureau. Good luck!
