My credit card rate has gone up for no reason?

credit card rate
Jarod O asked:

Looks like things are going to start to hit the fan now for everyone. Since the FED has now changed the way credit card companies can do business they have in return started to raise everyones rates. Mine went from 9.24 to 16.99 for no reason. Has anyone else experienced this yet?
I did call them up and they said that I was a part of a restructuring that they were doing. They said it’s going to happen to everyone! I have no balance, but a $25,000 limit. I’m not going to use it, if the rate stays that high.

call the company and confront them about it.

The Fed didn’t change anything dealing with credit cards. The lenders are, in general, raising rates and cutting card limits.

You most likely received something in the mail from them – one of those things that looks like junk mail, and has three pages of very fine print that NO ONE reads. They almost always are telling you that they can raise the rates without notice and unfortunately, a lot of them are. Call them and they might lower it for you.
