how much trouble would some one get for commiting credit card fraud on there own credit card?

I know some one that was using there credit card at work to return merchandise back on to there prepaid credit card. for the amount of 42.00 would this get someone in trouble for doing something like that? if so would he go to jail?

Not at all people have the right to return items and get back there money. It happens everyday.
