it’s called fraud. Your time in jail will depend on where you live.

you’re a retard.

Your best case scenario is that they recall the loan immediately and if you can pay them back they don’t press charges. Not very likely scenario all around.

You could be prosecuted for fraud, and/or

On failing to repay the loan after it had been called back, they would destroy your credit rating and, depending on the amount of credit you owe, they could press charges for larceny, petty theft, and even grand theft. There’s also conspiracy to defraud, and if you use the mail for any part of the process: mail fraud. They could probably find more things too.

This is a tougher answer to hear, but you’re better off cutting any non-essential spending, negotiating with your current cards to lower the rates, working your butt off (sometimes that means two or three jobs to dig your way out) and sacrifice what you must to get out of the hole.

Most credit card companies will verify through the school you list that you are actually a student. Not only is this fraud – but you’re likely to get caught!

Don’t do it…. If you need more money, can you get another job? I hate to appear mean, but if you must lie in order to get a credit card, you probably don’t need it. It also appears that you spend a pretty significant amount of time on the computer (level 4 – 1400+ answers), could you use this time working to increase your income?

Credit cards ruin many people before they even get a good start at life. They target students because they generally need money, and accumulate lots of debt in a short period. I personally wish universities would stop allowing companies on campus – these card companies push their plastic and are little better than people who push drugs.

Oh, I am pretty sure the card company will want more than an ID. They will probably try to confirm current student status and deny it up front. When you submit the application you are signing that they can pull most of your records, fiananical and otherwise…

Good Luck!

you really wont get into any trouble. This doesnt mean that its ok to lie or misrepresent yourself to a financial institution. But if you put that you are a full time student most financial institution dont even check. If the card is meant for a student they will check if you are a student. But they wont file charges… If you took a credit card out in your mothers name boy friends or who ever other than you. Thats a crime and could be prosecuted.

OC1999 Says:

As long as you filling out the application as yourself and not trying to impersonate another person you would be okay legally. However, you would have to deal with any moral implications from your lying.

Now you still won’t get the credit card if they do check and being a full time student is a requirement for approval. They will just send you a letter saying you were declined for .
