You will get 0 tax credit on a child born this coming february. The child would have had to have been born by december 31st, 2008 to earn the credit. Better luck next year.

Too much, if any at all. I have always disagreed with child benefits and in fact never drew our child allowance. If you can’t afford them don’t have them and expect everyone else to support them.

You can use the HM revenue and customs tax credit calculator (1st link) to work out how much extra you will receive.

Each case is specific, you need to go online to use the online calculator:

How much you get depends on income, ages of other children etc

Labdogs, she’s in the UK there are no limits to when you can claim. you claim as soon as your baby is born whether december or june.

And there not free hand outs, parents work harder then any other group or profession of people. Think about it, if only parents who were well off enough not to need child benefit had children hundred and thousands of nurseries, school teachers, pedatricians, shops like mothercare and the early learning centre would all lose there jobs. All these professions and many mnay more require children to be born for them to continue in business. With the amount of job losses already, think how many more thousands, of nurses, doctors, school teachers, shop workers would be out of job because there wasn’t a supply for them. If you stopped every parent having a child unless they were well off enough to afford to have them, there would eb no children. Because lets face it how many people can afford to live without some kind of help?? You people bark up the wrong tree, take away the kids and you take away the jobs and take away so many other peoples lives.

I work it out to be £141.05 a week for all three. There is not enough info to do a proper calc. Can I suggest you try the site below on which you can do a calculation for yourself. You don’t need to register on the site and can remain anonymous.
