How Difficult to Set Up a Numbered Bank Account with Credit Suisse/UBS?
chopin1810900 asked:
I would think that due to their very large size that they would be far less discriminating in how they choose their clients than the small prestigious family-run Swiss banks who like to retain a reputation of only serving the very best.
If this is of importance — I’m not filthy rich, but I’m certainly not a pauper either.
By the way — I’m not hiding anything, but I don’t trust the stability of similar up-and-coming banks in developing countries and I’ve had numerous privacy issues with American banks.

Well, it’s not really difficult to get a bank account in Switzerland – just come along with your passport and if possible with a proof of assets plus some explanation how the money became yours.
The fees are quite high, but depending on the amounts involved they do not really matter. UBS offers the best internet service of all banks I know, here as well as abroad.
The so-called private banks do not really offer an extra benefit, so it’s more convenient to keep to the large banks.
