In these tough economic times, many people are having a hard time keeping up with their credit cards or other various debts and credit card deferment many be your best option. If you can’t keep up with your credit cards, there is hope as credit card deferment .

How The Credit Card Deferment Process Work

The first step in the credit card deferment process is to contact your credit card provider’s customer service department. After that, you can explain to them that you are having a tough time keeping up with your bills and if they have any forgiveness or deferment program. After you explained your situation, many time the credit card company will realize that a little money is better than no money from you and will allow for your credit card to be deferred.

Credit Card Deferment

Many times during the credit card deferment your credit card will be put on hold for 6 months or a year to allow you to save up some money or take care of other bills that are more pressing. Many companies do allow credit card deferment, but if you are not accepted you can look into a debt negotiation company to help take care of your debts.

radical centrist asked:

This is an attempt at reasoned discussion, please don’t answer until you’ve read everything and then please respond point-by-point. Thanks!

==================================

Paying for other people’s care: Insurance rates are based on how many people in the whole plan get sick…if you take care of yourself and never get sick, 100% of your money will go to funding care for strangers who possibly don’t take care of their health. I have also heard the argument that people should just go the emergency room, but the people who do this are generally not concerned with their credit score and are not going to ever pay for the thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars in care for a serious illness. ER care is the most expensive form of care available and you are currently bearing this cost through taxes.

Rationed care: Again, if you have private insurance you are already in a pool with other people who are insured by an organization with a fixed amount of money to spend on everyone’s care. There are two important differences, however; a private insurer has a profit motive to find ways to deny coverage while the government does not. In fact the elected officials who are behind the system know that they can always be voted out of office, so they have a motive to make sure people are getting what they need. Do you really think all those other industrialized Western countries with full universal coverage routinely deny care to all elderly people, and everyone just accepts it because they’re wacky foreigners who don’t have any feelings??

Death Panels: This seems to refer to one of two things, either a panel to determine whether someone is worthy of living or a consultation with a doctor to discuss a dying family member’s care. In the first case, see above. In the second case, this is what normal people already do regardless of where the doctor’s money is coming from. In the proposed legislation, such a consultation is OPTIONAL. In any case if you are worried about people dying, then why aren’t you worried about the estimated tens of thousands of people who die every single year due to preventable illness and lack of coverage? http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=1RJ&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&ei=Rs2TS8KNBcGUtgft4KzUCg&sa=X&oi=spellfullpage&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=2&ved=0CAYQvwUoAQ&&q=die+every+year+lack+coverage&spell=1

Adding to the budget: The United States currently spends significantly more on health care as a percentage of GDP than almost any of the industrialized nations with universal health care. http://www.rwjf.org/pr/product.jsp?id=45110. The total cost of implementation is projected to be between $850-$950 billion, but this will pay for itself many times over in the long run. Keep in mind the projected total cost of the war against a country that never attacked us, had no ties to al qaeda, and no WMD’s, is THREE TRILLION dollars and we will never get this money back. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=M7d&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&q=projected+total+cost+iraq+war&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=

Changing the “best system in the world”: I have yet to be told what this is based on, other than anecdotes about foreigners coming to the U.S. for surgery. However, quality and access are two completely different things. It’s true that the best doctors in the world come here, but that does little for the people who have no health coverage whatsoever. Yes people can go to the ER, but then we’re back to Point #1. The fact is that the U.S. has a lower life expectancy than the Western industrialized nations with full universal coverage, and although this is not 100% due to the health care systems it certainly damages the argument that universal coverage kills people. Keep in mind that universal coverage is not even being remotely contemplated here. I have heard arguments about “back-door universal coverage” by preventing people from ever getting private insurance again once they go onto the public option, but this is quite confusing considering that a public option is not even in the legislation currently being blocked from even coming to a vote. Maybe someone can explain this too.

Thank you for making it this far, I look forward to intelligent responses.
===================================

The government has a motive to be fiscally responsible, not to MAKE A MAXIMUM PROFIT.

Link for your Medicare claim?

And when market forces cause all the private insurers have roughly the same rates of denial, where are you going to go?

===================================

“Pelosi’s Water Boy”

I didn’t realize Cuba was a Western industrialized nation….

“GoGo Girls”

I actually agree with you on everything about immigration…too bad this question was about health care.

===================================
=====================================

“CaptainO”

It’s been awhile since I’ve heard the “public option will be so cheap and such great service that it will put the private companies out of business” argument. Silly goose, don’t you remember that the public option will be awful because the government can’t run anything right?

MAKE UP YOUR MIND

Humble. asked:

I am in my mid-twenties, and I need some advice and direction in fixing my credit, and wondering at this point if it is possible to actually obtain GOOD credit in the future, if I fix it in the next few years.

I am not even in MAJOR debt, but based on what I make a month, I make enough to pay my current bills and not too much extra, as we are also trying to maintain a savings account.

So, my question is-for example I owe about 2,000 to a credit card, that is now in collections–do I take them up on an offer where they cut the amt. I owe down or just pay small amounts monthly until it is paid off, I have heard differing advice on this, as some people say if they cut the amt. down it actually has a negative effect on your credit, and that’s the last thing I need as far as my credit score is concerned.

So, please, tell me, what can I do, because I really want to fix it. I have MAYBE $5000.00 in debt, but I am sure I cannot get a loan to consolidate this because my credit is bad, and no NO co-signers, I am in this alone.

Thank-You in advance.

Im wondering if transfering my credit cards to a consolidation loan and leaving the cards open (with no balances, or using them for fixed expenses and paying them off every month) how fast i can expect my credit score to go back up?

ninja hampsters asked:

I don’t know much about how credit works. When I was 22 and had only held a job for 4mths after returning home from college w. 56,000 in debt to sallie mae…i got 2 credit cards, one w. 2,000 limit and one had a 1500 limit…it didn’t take me long. Now, i am 25, and i haven’t paid on those cards. i know that’s horrible but i haven’t worked because i have a photo degree and it has taken me nowhere, i live in a very small community and noone works unless they’ve had the job for a long time. anyway, i am going back to school for CNA which will guarantee me a job and the first thing i am going to do is pay off both of those cards, now my question is, if i save up and pay them off in one big sum – how quickly would that effect my credit? or is it better to pay them each off w. monthly payments? i am trying to fix my credit so i can get an apartment hopefully be jan. 2012 my score now is 560….how can i get it up to at least good the fastest? The school loans my mom is paying a few, for some reason it shows up 4 times even though it was only one school, it shows 2 as my mom is paying or well it says paid and then 2 are behind that i never knew about until now….i HATE salle mae .
Why do I need to apply for cards and not use them?
I have one on there I’ve never used, does that make it go up some?

So this is Identity theft right? This National Credit company has all my information. whoever did this knew just about everything about me. I think It might of been someone I knew.
I don’t know what to do. I need to get an apartment in one month. This National Credit place takes 60-90 days to find out if it was identity theft. I do not have that much time.
What should I do? Would getting a lawyer make the process faster? Should I sue this credit place?
They also said my dad co-signed for me (yea right). however he got it off his credit. So I asked this lady how my dad got it off his credit and she said he called and since his signature is nowhere in the contract or application, he is not responsable! WHAT? then what does CO-SIGN mean?
crazy
Im sorry if I sound crazy. Im not. This however is driving me crazy.

princess asked:

i have had the same credit card since 1993, recently i have been getting alot of credit card offers in the mail with claims of fixed intrest of 11.99% and 0% introductory offer on balance tranfers up to 12 months then 10.99% intrest. so i pulled out my credit card statement and discovered i am paying ALOT more than that in intrest. how do i go about choosing the best credit card to help me pay off my existing credit card balance faster and with way less intrest? i dont know what to look for in the fine print to make sure i dont get stuck paying this intrest again. any specific cards or links anyone can recommend that i can apply for? my credit rating according to my current credit card co is a 783.
