Credit disputes?
About a year ago my boyfriend applied for a credit card to establish more credit but it got declined due to delenquincies on his credit report. We got a copy of the report and there were two delenquencies. One we disputed but was never removed but rather a note was placed on him credit report. How do we go about getting the delenquencies removed permanently and should this effect his ability to get a credit card.
The delenquency was with Time Warner Cable. He called to have the cable canceled when he deployed for six months and they never shut it off and therefore it showed that he did not pay for six months. He has orders saying he was deployed during this period of time and he has had a zero balance for over two years now. About 1 1/2 years ago we disputed through the company and they refused to take it off his credit report so we disputed through Equifax. The dispute was annotated on his report but the delenquency was not removed.

If you owe money, you must pay it off - then the report will show a zero balance. That will remain on your report for 7 years, but will stop being a major issue after about 12-18 months.
If they are truly in error, then disputing them directly to the company that placed it on the report will clear it up.
