Adding a spouse or child to a credit card account as an authorized user will improve their score. The account history will count in their score calculation.

Fair Isaac was going to change this to stop strangers from piggy backing for profit. However, it is still valid for spouses and children.

Yes, her score will improve with the good standing, revolving balance level, and on time payment of the card account even if you are the only party to actually use the account. This is a tactic that some people have done with people with whom they are not related or married to improve their credit score. People who do this for others with poor credit will often require payment for the benefit but not provide an actual card to the other party. However, credit card companies have been trying in recent years to curb this activity. Your situation though, because she is a spouse, is perfectly legit in the eyes of the issuer.

no this will definately raise her credit score even if she is not using it. as long as your bills are getting paid of on time then here credit rating will improve.. dont worry i am not guessing this.. i actually use to work in a bank. and have actually asked the same question myself to my superiours.

this will actually raise her credit rating. you can even add her to your utility bills, phone bills etc and this will all help.
